Microsoft wants more good apps on the Windows Store, and it's giving developer partners a new Windows 8 User Experience Design Competency in the Microsoft Partner Network.

  • This is really a good effort taken by Microsoft as this would help them increase windows mobile application development standard which would reflect on developers to create standard apps, that should reach customer needs
  • "Design Competency" is for Metro/Modern UX only. Big internal push (MS paid outsourcers) to get Apple devs to write apps for MS is unsuccessful and MS is ignoring Android devs. Previous initiatives MS seeded the field but apparently MS managers are not "going to put their money where their mouth is". Meanwhile Devs expecting to make money stick with other platforms.
