Details Surface On HP's Gen8 Xeon E5-Based ProLiant Servers

The new ProLiant G8 servers, which could be officially introduced as early as next week, are slated to include blade, rackmount, tower and small-form-factor models.


  • Nothing special here that other vendors won't be able to do also. Follows Intel architecture. Snooze.
  • @ServerGuy True, any other vendor will be able to use the new Xeon, but each OEM has to do their own legwork to optimize those chips, and some will do it better than others.
